Useful details to include

When reporting a problem, include your iPhone model, iOS version, Gardenfolk app version and a short description of what happened. Screenshots are useful when the issue is visual.

I found a bug. What should I send?

Describe what you were doing, what you expected to happen, what happened instead and whether you can reproduce it. Include a screenshot if it helps explain the problem.

My check-in reminders are not arriving.

Open Gardenfolk Settings and check the Check-in Notifications section. If notifications are disabled, use Manage in Settings to open the iPhone notification settings for Gardenfolk.

Gardenfolk sends reminders to check on a plant rather than treating every reminder as an instruction to water it.

Why did one notification mention several plants?

If several residents are due for a check-in at the same time, Gardenfolk combines them into one reminder instead of sending several notifications at once.

Opening that reminder takes you to the Herbarium Index so you can work through the residents that need attention.

What is the difference between Herbarium and Garden?

The Herbarium is the main place for browsing residents and returning to their care information. Book shows one resident in detail, Folio shows several together, and Index gives you a searchable list.

Garden is an alternate view where your residents live together in the painterly Gardenfolk world.

The AI Botanist is unavailable.

AI Botanist guidance requires an internet connection. Your residents, care history, Herbarium, Garden and check-in features continue to work if the AI service is unavailable.

Reconnect to the internet and try the AI Botanist again.

What does the AI Botanist do?

The AI Botanist provides AI-generated, species-specific plant-care guidance. It can suggest a check-in rhythm and explain practical watering approaches for a resident.

Guidance includes a cited horticultural source and should be used alongside direct observation of your plant and its environment.

Where is my Gardenfolk data stored?

Your residents and care history are stored locally on your iPhone. Gardenfolk does not require an account.

AI Botanist requests are sent to the Gardenfolk AI service when you choose to use that feature.

How do I erase my Gardenfolk data?

Open Gardenfolk Settings and choose Erase Gardenfolk Data. The app will ask for confirmation before permanently removing residents and care history stored by Gardenfolk on that device.

I have a plant-care question.

Gardenfolk and the AI Botanist provide general plant-care guidance, but conditions differ between homes and individual plants. Light, temperature, pot size, growing medium and season can all affect what a plant needs.

Where can I send feedback?

Use the support email above. Product feedback, visual issues and feature problems can all be sent to the same address.
